Fitting and care for your shoes and dancewear
General Shoe Fitting
Dance shoes are generally worn tighter than street shoes. They must fit snuggly, but without pinching, to support the foot and maintain balance on the floor. The shoes will stretch so they must start out tighter than they will normally be worn. Please consult our sizing charts for more information. We also have a good sample collection of shoes to try on, so you can find the perfect fit. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Open-Toe Fitting
In open-toe shoes the sole should be completely covered by your feet; some dancers prefer their toes go over the sole by up to 2 cm. This is subject to wearer preference; We suggest going as short as is comfortable for you.
Closed-Toe Fitting
In closed-toe styles (womens and mens) the toes should be as close to the end of the shoe as comfortable, without crunching your toes.
Sizing
All our shoes are in European sizes but they are marked with US sizes. There is a conversion table in our Info tab for approximate US size. The Classic series shoes are slightly longer than the C-series; Party Party and Signature Series, so you may need to go 1/2 size smaller. If you are unsure, you can measure your feet in cm and use the conversion table to find your size or contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
Shoe and Clothing Care
We recommend brushing the suede soles of the shoes to keep them free of wax build up if you are dancing on a professional dance floor. The wax will cause soles to wear out faster. If you are dancing on a conventional dance floor, occasional brushing is fine. Also make sure to never wear your dance shoes outside and avoid getting them wet. Mens shoes should be cared for like any leather shoe. Ladies fabric shoes can be cleaned with a damp cloth for light dirt, or shoe fabric cleaner. We recommend reading the washing instruction tags on clothing for care.
